Default The real problem - December 16th, 2011, 02:14

I've recently become involved in the clan world on near-reality, and we all know how bad it is. This thread will be used to discuss the problem, how i believe it is and what others feel it is, and move towards solving it.

I believe that the problem comes from lack of competition, and to fill this void, the clans have taken it to a new level. I'm not talking about more fights in game, but actually taking the fun out of near-reality by making everyone paranoid.

There is a lack of competition. There are 3 major clans, Extortion, Gwas and Cosa Nostra. (retribution closed after merging with Rtn. Perfection has not been in existence for a week yet so i do not believe they are a major clan. No flame intended.) Quite frankly, fighting the exact same people day in and day out can get quite repetitive. The lack of variety is truly detrimental.

However, whenever new clans try to sprout up, they don't seem to last that long. I do not know the reason of this. This is a topic for discussion.

Now, what does the lack of competition/variety lead to? Well, since there are no new clans or teams, the existing ones continue to compete more rigorously for dominance. Sadly, this has snowballed out of proportion and now we are faced with the imminent death of clanning on near-reality.

Everyday, there is at least 1 report in the 'report players' section of the forums, with 1 clan member accusing a member of another clan for flaming/ddosing/hacking etc etc. Members of all 3 clans are taking things to a new level, trying to get other members banned simply for being in a different clan. This is low. Very low. (I am not trying to say that clan members should not be reporting other players for breaking the rules of the game. They should do this, however, only for this, and not because you simply do not like the other person.)

what this does is a few things:
1. Pisses off staff.
2. Further reduced competition (which worsens the problem).

So now the staff are upset and clearly don't want anything to do with clans, which makes them stop trying to have events that clans would enjoy (singles ffa's, gdz ffa's) and causes more events that are individual based. If the staff is against clans, then the community will surely die.

The other issue is that these reports kill competition. If one/two of the major clans die off, then the clan world is pretty much dead, with no real clan fights. Is that what you guys really want?

Thank you for reading.

Topics for discussion:

1. can we ALL agree to stop these stupid reports?
2. How do you think we can increase competition amongst the clan world?
3. What do you want the clan world to look like?

As much as I would love to contribute to improving the clan world, it's gone.

Reporting one another.

Agree with all of this. It's getting ridiculous, the flaming/flame baiting was bad enough.

If I see a certain person make another topic reporting a player from another clan for a stupid reason in an attempt to get them banned I'll lose my rag and do my best to ensure they're banned instead.

Some people need to grow up and realise this is just a game. Start enjoying yourselves and cut out the petty, immature and quite frankly embarrassing drama. It's getting boring and quite frankly every staff member is fed up of spending hours on end dealing with it every day.

Clan officials really need to start getting at there members. Striking and kicking those striving to get people banned and or flame/flame baiting.

All this goes for in game as well on forums.

Events and Competitions

The main problem is clans thinking they're above the staff at events. Every single event I do in which I say no TB's a clan will always come along with a fall in and throw a tb. The reason we do no tb's is to try and get people into the wild to give you people to fight.

I hold all day long and the majority of them are spoilt by clans. If its no tbs be my guest but stop with the flaming people as you kill them. There is absolutely no need for it.

Would appreciate it if you all stopped sitting at magebank spamming as well. If you want to spam one another when you're fighting fair enough but it stops as soon as you leave the wild.

I am more than happy to hold any event as long as you guys are willing to work with me. By that I mean listening to me, following rules and cutting the crap. Any good ideas for events feel free to pm me to discuss them and I'll do my best to get them going.

Future of the clan world

This all depends on how officials run their clans. If it carrys on like it is things will keep on getting worse. We need to welcome new clans, maybe even help them out. Team up with them once in a while, what ever it takes to get there confidence up.

We all badly want new people to fight so rather than crushing any new clan the day it opens. Why not wait until they challenge us? Its ridiculous going looking for a clan thats been open a day, they won't stand a chance. They'll get demotivated and the clan will die before it even starts.

The clan world is on you guys, it all depends on how you decide to act. The staff team can only do so much, its down to you lot. So sort your acts out and lets get this community back on track.[/ss]

Well when I got accused of something I did not do, the first time ok mistake, the 2nd time really? The 3rd time he just looked like an idiot reporting me 3 times in a span of 5 hours for something I definitely didn't do. That doesn't help it at all, especially when 52 was trying to add to the conversation he hits refresh and notice's he's being reported lol?

Anyways, this topic is pointless we have like 3 of them right now lol.

The clan world is virtually dead, and it doesn't help when you have 2-3 clans teaming up

It doesn't help when you have clans making topics daily about how it's 3v1 when in reality it's never been 3v anyone............................................ ...........They have that perception because they think someones out to get them when in reality, no one cares lol

stop flaming on this thread. this is for discussion. In stead of saying "this is pointless, already dead," actually try suggesting something. That attitude gets us nowhere
