Near Reality Rules

Game Rules

• Do not bug abuse.
• Do not advertise other servers.
• Do not trade NR accounts in any form or way.
• Do not trade NR items non NR items.
• Do not scam donation pins.
• Do not disrespect or impersonate staff members.
• Do not hack other players.
• Do not PKP cheat.
• Do not DDoS.
• Do not scam.
• Do not use our server for all of your black market sales, use our black market section for this.
• Do not sell glitched items or items glitched out of minigames such as Castle Wars Bandages or Hooded Cloaks.

Forum Rules

• Do not advertise content not associated with Near Reality.
• Do not flame or disrespect staff members.
• Do not ignore stickies or appeal rules.
• Do not use inappropriate or irritating signature pictures/text.
• Do not spam(includes posts and topics).
• Do not bump old topics(grave digging).
• Do not flame outside of the flame wars section.
• Do not rant outside the rants section.
• Do not be racist.
• Do not bump your post more often than once every 24 hours.
• Do not post price checks, view them here.

Shoutbox Rules

• Do not advertise content not associated with Near Reality.
• Do not flame or disrespect staff members.
• Do not use inappropriate or irritating signature pictures/text.
• Do not spam(includes posts and topics).
• Do not flame outside of the flame.
• Do not rant.
• Do not be racist.
• Do not flame other players in the shoutbox.

IRC Rules

• Always read the channel topic upon entering a new channel
• All in game & Forum rules apply to IRC
• Follow all channel guidelines - If you require assistance make sure you are in the right channel for what you need.
• Do not advertise content not associated with Near Reality.
• Do not flame/disrespect anyone on a public IRC channel.
• Do not rant.
• Do not be racist.
• Do not ask staff to look at your appeals
• Do not spam
• Do not try to buy/sell items in #NR; Go to #Market
• Do not act like an immature child. You will be temporarily banned from the network.
• Disable annoying scripts in public channels if you are on mIRC

Appeal Rules

• If your appeal has been declined you must wait 2 days to post another unless a staff member tells you otherwise.
• Making more than one appeal will result in an auto decline on your appeal.
• Lying will result in an auto decline on your appeal.
• Be polite, being rude on your appeal is the perfect way to go about not getting your punishment resolved!
• Asking staff to view your appeal is an automatic decline.
• Do not bump your appeal more than once every 24 hours.
• You are responsible for all offenses on your account. Do not blame your mother, brother, dog or fish.
• You must supply enough information or your appeal will be automatically declined.
• If you were IP banned or IP muted, you must name the exact account you were punished on.

Using a Middleman (added March 30th, 2012)

• You must be prepared to send pins and the partner must also be ready.
• Do not AFK when someone is middlemanning for you
• Do not ask for a MM if your 'partner' is not ready or the deal is not sorted.
• Do not ask for a MM until you are logged into forums / Runescape
• Do not ask someone else to MM until you have received a declining response from the first person.
  

Note: Any other punishments / the punishment related to any particular offence given, are at the judgment and discretion of the staff member. There is just no set rules apart from the above.
Account share at your own risk. If you get your items stolen, we won't recover them. If they are IP banned and you were on their account, you will join them.
Everything else is fair game. If you get talked, tricked, coerced, or drugged into being scammed, you probably deserve it. Nobody on the internet will help you out of the goodness of their heart.
Items are NEVER replaced.
We are not the internet police.

Consequences

Consequences from breaking these rules can range from a small infraction to an IP-ban.

Some other consequences include
Muted - Unable to talk in-game for a set period of time - you must be logged in for the timer to decrease.
Jail - Serve time in-game for a set period of time - you must be logged in for the timer to decrease.
Ban - Account is disabled and is unable to be used
Ip-Muted - Unable to talk in-game for a set period of time on any account
Ip-Ban - All accounts are disabled and are unable to be used
